You didn’t come this far, to only come this far… and neither have we.
If you know our 53-year history and have been watching our global relaunch over the last three years, then you know we are a company driven by passion and grit, with a team that just won’t quit. But just as important: We believe in our industry, we are passionate about travel, and we know the important role Travel Advisors play to ensure this industry stays strong. Travel Advisors have been through many challenging times over the past 20 years, as has our company throughout its history, and we have always found a way to rebound and re-invent ourselves against all odds. This time will be no different. Our company was reborn under the leadership of my father, and more recently myself, so we understand that it’s not a matter of if, but when.
Most people thought I had lost my mind taking over this company on the brink of closure, that had fallen into muddy waters (or quicksand to be more accurate), and bringing it back to life after my father’s passing. It was unimaginable to see it succeed, blossoming with all the fruits of our labor, with new branding, marketing, relationships, partnerships, bookings and most of all, friendships. So, I am here to tell you that staying committed, believing in this industry, yourself, your team, and your partners—while keeping your eye on the ball—works, and it will work again, for us and for you.
We are here to help, and not just help with words and empathy, but tangible help, in whatever capacity you feel will assist you and your team to stay relevant and prepared for when this tsunami begins to recede and a tidal wave of travel floods over us. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing our story of recovery and commitment against all odds, along with providing whatever best practices we have learned while rebuilding. We hope this will help you look forward and not back.
My father had a saying that has been quite relevant for us over the past few years, and I believe will give us hope today as well. “I see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I don’t think it’s a train.”
