Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
Upon arrival in Reykjavik, make your way via the famous Flybus to your hotel and enjoy a glorious day on your own before touring begins tomorrow!

Day 2: Volcano Craters, Seals, Fjords and Mountains
Few things compare to the excitement of climbing into a volcano crater, and that’s just what we plan to do today in Grabrok. Among many other sites of the day will be the beautiful scenic fjords landscape as we head to the capital of Northern Iceland, Akureyri. (B)

Day 3: The Capital of Northern Iceland, lake Mývatn & Geothermal Baths
In the  morning, we will explore akureyri,  a charming town of 17,000 inhabitants, including a beautiful botanical garden. We continue to Lake Mývatn, known for its geological wonders and active bird life. you won’t want to miss the bizarre lava formations at Kálfaströnd, followed by a walk around the many pseudo-craters and end an exciting day with a relaxing soak at Mývatn Nature Baths. (B)

Day 4: Lava, Hot Springs & Eastward Traveling
In the morning, we will hike in a lava Labyrinth at Dimmuborgir “The Dark Castles”, hoping to get a glimpse of the trolls who are said to live there! We will then visit the hot spring area of Námaskarð, with bubbling its mud pools. We’ll then head through the uninhabited highlands surrounding East Iceland. With some luck, we might spot an arctic fox or some see reindeer. (B)

Day 5: Fjords, Glaciers and Ice
It’s a day to admire the dramatic fjord landscape and its tiny fishing villages at the end of twisty roads in the east fjords and, on the route, we will visit an interesting stone and mineral collection. In the afternoon, we see Vatnajökull – Europe’s biggest glacier that is visible all over southeast Iceland. You can walk on the black sandy beach we travel along the southern part of the glacier and spend time at Europe’s largest national park, which has Iceland’s highest mountains, an alpine environment, and Europe’s largest glacier. (B)

Day 6: The Southern Coast
Today, a beautiful drive with many natural wonders awaits us today as we head across the Eldhraun lava field. cross the sandy desert of the south coast, overlooked by cliffs, glaciers and waterfalls. We stroll along the black lava beach and in the small village of Skógar, see Skógafoss waterfall which is 60 meters high! (B)

Day 7: Icelandic Horses & The Golden Circle
Today we explore the classics as we travel the route of the Golden Circle sights. we will start the day learning about the Icelandic horse. Later on, see the steam rising from the Geysir geothermal fields as we arrive. Other highlights today include “The Golden Falls” and Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site. as we return to Reykjavík, you’ll enjoy a short city tour that show highlights of the world’s northernmost capital. (B)

Day 8: Departure
Today, transfer via the Flybus shuttle to Keflavík airport for your departing flight. (B)
