Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Rome

Welcome to Italy’s historical capital. Upon landing at Rome airport, you will be met by our local representative and transported to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy the comforts of your accommodation, preparing for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Exploring Ancient and Baroque Rome

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at your hotel. A transfer will take you to Rome’s historic heart, where a walking tour amongst the echoes of the ancient Roman Empire awaits. Stand in awe of the mighty Colosseum, walk through the ruins of the Roman Forum, and gaze at the Pantheon’s timeless dome. Continue to marvel at Rome’s Renaissance and Baroque elegance as you encounter grand palaces like Quirinale, Venezia, and Farnese, and step into iconic piazzas including the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, and Piazza della Minerva. Later, a coach tour will introduce you to other significant sites such as the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Vatican City, and the Baths of Caracalla. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore further before an overnight stay in Rome.

Day 3: Journey to Naples

After breakfast, we will depart for Naples, a city steeped in a rich tapestry of cultural history. A guided tour upon arrival will unveil its UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic center, revealing influences from ancient Greeks to French and Spanish dominions. Admire the seven castles guarding the city, visit the regal Royal Palace, the majestic Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, and be captivated by the bustling streets like Via Toledo. Day 4: Pompeii’s Legacy and Sorrento Sunset

Today, we journey back in time with a visit to the ruins of Pompeii, the city frozen in time by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore the ancient forum, amphitheater, and well-preserved buildings adorned with mosaics. Post-discovery, savor a wine tasting paired with lunch at a local volcanic vineyard. Conclude the day with a serene boat ride off the coast of Sorrento, witnessing a breathtaking sunset over the sea before returning to Sorrento for the night.

Day 5: Amalfi Coast to Salerno

Embark on a scenic drive along the stunning Amalfi Coast, where cliffside vistas and azure seas unfold. The journey includes stops at the picturesque towns of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. Explore architectural jewels like the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the 13th-century Amalfi Cathedral. End the day with an overnight stay in Salerno.

Day 6: From Salerno to Bari and Night Ferry to Greece

An early start takes us across Italy toward the Adriatic Sea. In Bari, enjoy a panoramic tour showcasing its history and architecture, including the Petruzzelli Theater and the Cathedral of San Sabino. After some free time, we’ll head to the port to board our overnight ferry to Igoumenitsa, Greece, settling in for the night at sea.

Day 7: Igoumenitsa to the Meteora Monasteries

We arrive in Igoumenitsa early and take time for breakfast. Refreshed, we proceed to Ioannina, a city rich in Byzantine and Ottoman history, before venturing to the awe-inspiring Meteora Monasteries perched atop rock pillars. Adhere to the dress code as you step into a world of monastic serenity. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Kalambaka.

Day 8: Delphi’s Oracle and Arrival in Athens

Travelling from Kalambaka, we pause at Delphi to consult the ancient oracle, exploring the Temple of Apollo and other significant ruins. Our historical journey then leads us to Athens for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Athens and Cape Sounion

After breakfast, a guided tour introduces Athens’ classical landmarks, culminating in a visit to the magnificent Acropolis. In the afternoon, we travel to Cape Sounion for a mesmerizing sunset experience, returning to Athens for the night.

Day 10: Day Trip to Epidaurus, Nafplio, and Mycenae

A day trip from Athens brings us to Epidaurus with its renowned ancient theatre, followed by a leisurely stop in Nafplio. The journey continues to Mycenae, where historical treasures await. We return to Athens for our final overnight stay.

 

Day 11: Departure from Athens

Enjoy your last breakfast in Athens before a transfer to the airport, concluding your grand tour of Italy and Greece with heartfelt memories and stories to tell.
