Day 1: Arrival in Santiago
Arrival to Santiago where we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. At night, a welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2: Santiago | Valparaiso
Start the day with a journey through the historic, commercial and residential suburbs. Walk down the main streets of the city, visiting Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and other places of interest. Then travel to modern commercial and residential areas, as well as new neighborhoods. Continue to the colorful city of Valparaiso, with its enchanting hills, magnificent views of the bay, picturesque paintings and incredible architecture of colorful houses. Lunch included at a local restaurant. (B,L)
Day 3: Valparaiso
Take a winery tour in the beautiful Chilean Valleys, visiting some vineyards that offer high-quality wines and products. This region is ideal for those who want to taste a wide variety of wines from Chile.Enjoy lunch with local specialties and a wine tasting session. (B,L)
Day 4: Valparaiso | Mendoza
After breakfast, drive to Mendoza. Upon arrival, have a city tour beginning with the historical area where Don Pedro del Castillo founded the city in 1561, then continue to many other interesting sites of this fascinating city. Conclude with a visit to the sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin of Lourdes and enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding the city. Lunch at a local restaurant. (B,L)
Day 5: Mendoza
A day dedicated to discovering the fascinating world of wine! Learn the origin of the wine industry in this city, which is now the basis of the local economy. Visit a winery and learn about the winemaking and cultivation of the vineyard processes. Enjoy lunch featuring a gourmet menu accompanied by local wine. (B,L)
Day 6: Mendoza
Go to Norton Winery vineyard to participate in their innovative program “Winemaker for a Day.” Discover Malbec wine, the winemaking process and wine shops. Later, be judged as a winemaker, by preparing your unique blend from some select wines. For lunch, enjoy regional specialties accompanied by local wines at the winery. (B,L)
Day 7: Mendoza | Buenos Aires
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport, for your flight to Buenos Aires. Arrive and transfer to the hotel, drop off luggage, and then have a panoramic tour of this lively city, known as the “Paris of South America.”Drive along Avenida 9 de Julio, the world’s largest boulevard, to get to Plaza de Mayo with the imposing Presidential Palace, Town Hall and other places of interest. Visit the Tomb of Evita Perón at the Recoleta Cemetery. Then stop at a historic, 19th-century café, recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world. At night, dinner and tango show at one of the city’s most famous clubs. (B,D)
Day 8: Buenos Aires | Colonia del Sacramento | Montevideo
After breakfast, transfer to the pier for a one-hour ferry ride to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. Tour the city and have lunch at a local restaurant. The city’s historic quarter, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995, has a blending of Portuguese colonial-style buildings and Spanish ones. Walk the street and enjoy a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful views. (B,L)
Day 9: Montevideo
Visit two vineyards with contrasting methods of production. The first one is a historic but modernized winery, built around 1830, including a visit to its underground cellars. The second vineyard is smaller and specializes in small-scale wine production. Great care is taken at every stage of the winemaking process, from the vineyard to the glass. Enjoy a lunch of local products and a wine tasting session.At night, a farewell dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 10: Depart Montevideo
Check out of hotel. Walk through the tiny, colorful streets of Montevideo, visiting: local markets, the Old City, the Gaucho Museum, traditional Port Market, various neighborhoods and the coastline. Transfer to airport for departure. (B)
