Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
Welcome to Delhi! Upon arrival, meet and greet then private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Delhi
Morning sightseeing of New Delhi includes a drive along the city’s wide boulevards and see the impressive government buildings, lovely parks and gardens. See two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Humanyun’s Tomb, built in the 16th century and considered the architectural forerunner of the Taj Mahal and the 240 foot high Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in the world. In the afternoon, sightseeing in Old Delhi includes a visit to the opulent Red Fort; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque; Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets; and the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi. (B)

Day 3: Delhi | Khajuraho | Bandhavgarh
Transfer for flight to Khajuraho. Upon arrival, if time permits, brief visit to the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a group of Hindu and Jain temples. Then, drive to Bandhavgarh National Park, known for its variety of wildlife and large biodiversity with 22 species of mammals and 250 species of birds. The park’s tiger population density is the highest in India. The park was once a hunting reserve of the Royal Family of Rewa. It is also where the famous white tigers of Rewa were discovered. (B,D)

Day 4: Bandhavgarh
After breakfast, return to Bandhavgarh National Park. Climb to the top of the 2,500 foot high Bandhavgarh Fort, located in the center of the park, for a breathtaking panoramic view of the area. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Bandhavgarh | Kanha
Depart this morning to Kanha National Park, another popular tiger reserve, which inspired Rudyard Kipling’s epic, Jungle Book. The Kanha Forest is home to an amazing variety of animals. Its rich tree cover is interspersed with open grasslands which allow for a rich animal population, similar in density to the animal-rich national parks of Africa. The park now boasts around 100 tigers, making it the best place in the world to see a tiger. It is also the sole habitat of Barasinghas (Swamp Deer), rescued from the very brink of extinction. (B,D)

Day 9: Kanha | Nagpur | Mumbai
Transfer to Nagpur Airport for your flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. (B)

Time permitting, a morning city tour of Mumbai. Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
