Arrival in Tel Aviv

Welcome at Ben Gurion airport and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Tel Aviv

Enjoy the famous Israeli buffet breakfast in your hotel before the tour. First stop is the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation in Jaffa, to see the future of Israel, widely known as the “start-up nation” and recognized as a major player in innovation, R & D, and entrepreneurship. Learn about the exciting new advancements Israeli start-ups are making. Continue to explore Jaffa, one of the oldest port cities in the world. Stroll along the artist’s quarter to the old port. Jonah. Then on to the Flea Market, with its cornucopia of second-hand treasures and shabby-chic gems.

Stroll through Neve Zedek, the first neighborhood in Tel Aviv, established in 1887 outside the walls of Jaffa and a recently gentrified area with wonderful restored homes and small shops and restaurants. Visit Independence Hall, the location where David Ben Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister, declared Israel’s independence in 1948. Next stop is Rothschild Blvd in Tel Aviv’s White City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that features many buildings from the 1920s and 1930s built in the Bauhaus (Modern) style of architecture. The buildings were designed by architects who were trained in Europe where they practiced their profession before immigrating. Finish the day with a walking tour through the outdoor Carmel Market, followed by some time for shopping on your own. (B)
