Panoramic city tour of some of the city’s most famous sites, including St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the largest orthodox basilica in the world; the 300-foot high bronze statue of Peter the Great; the Admiralty building; and the extraordinary Winter Palace, the former official residence of the Russian monarchs for 200 years, today a museum. (B)

DAY 4
St. Petersburg | Moscow

Excursion to Catherine’s Palace, the splendid country palace of the Czars. After a tour, stop at Pavlovsk Palace with its extraordinary park filled with classical statues, built for the son of Catherine the Great. In the late afternoon, a business class train ride to Moscow on brand new Sapsan express train. (B)

Moscow

Guided tour of Moscow, including: the University of Moscow, the most prestigious university in the country; the Bolshoi Theatre, one of the city’s main landmarks; Olympic Stadium, built for the 1980 Olympic Games; and the G.U.M. Department Store, one of the largest in the world. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Red Square and St. Basil’s Cathedral. In the afternoon, visit the Tretyakov Art Gallery, housing a collection of Russian art from the 11th century to the present day. (B)

DAY 6
Moscow

Tour the Kremlin and Cathedral Square where you’ll see palaces, cathedrals and the famous 260 foot high, Ivan the Great Bell Tower. Visit the Armory Museum, one of the oldest museums in the country, with its vast collection of Imperial Russian treasures. The afternoon is yours to enjoy your last day in Russia. (B)

Departure from Moscow
