Monday: San Jose | Arenal | Paradise Hot Springs

Our driver will wait for you outside the terminal to take you towards Arenal close to the Nicaraguan border. This region possesses beautiful and varied scenery. The lowlands host gushing rivers, hot springs, lagoons and plentiful wildlife. In the end of the day enjoy the thermal water of Paradise Hot Springs for a few hours and then have a Kosher dinner there. (Kosher Dinner)

Tuesday: Arenal | La Fortuna Waterfall | Don Juan Farm

Today, start a 3 km hiking trip through the tropical humid forest. Pass 15 bridges from 5 to 100 meters long and up to 60 meters high: spectacular scenery of birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. Next stop is La Fortuna waterfall with the huge swimming hole and the large rocks nearby. After swimming, continue to Finca Burío, five minutes from the town of La Fortuna. Owned by Don Juan, a traditional Costa Rican farmer; tour through his different tropical plantations, some of them not common or even unknown, and learn how they been used for cooking, industrial use and for medical purposes. The design of the land and the plantation attracts all sorts of birds and other animals which you will be able to see throughout the tour and experience real rainforest wildlife on this farm. Continue to the “trapiche” where you will see first-hand the how to extract sugar from the sugar cane, drink fresh sugar cane juice, and learn about the process of making the “guaro”, the famous Costa Rican alcohol. Wednesday: Arenal | Chocolate Farm | Arenal Hike

After breakfast, enjoy the sweetest rainforest experience, discovering the ancient secrets of chocolate: from its discovery and use, in tropical America, to the processing of the product we know and enjoy today. Considered as “a gift of the Gods”, the cacao tree was very important to the ancient culture, it was not only used as a ceremonial drink, but its seeds were also used as currency because of its economic value, in many regions of Mesoamerica, including Costa Rica. you will have the opportunity to learn interesting aspects of cocoa and chocolate, from its origin and history, participating in all the production process, from the harvesting of the fruit, drying and grinding of the seed, also the developing of the traditional drink of our ancestors, and of course enjoying a high quality organic chocolate. Enjoy this journey through the history, culture, traditions and the flavor. After that, tour to the volcano, hiking through the forest to get to the place where the lava used to flow, plants, wildlife and Arenal Lake. See the very place where the glowing rocks used to tumble down of the mountain. (Breakfast, Kosher Dinner)

Thursday: Arenal | Manuel Antonio

Today after breakfast go to San Lorenzo adventure center right in the center of a cloud forest and enjoy this canyoning tour – rappel down five descends from a 110 meters waterfall offering surprises at every step. At the end, the super fun Tarzan swing and a horseback ride ride back through the beautiful cloud forest. Later the combo canopy tour, where you will see the forest from the top of the trees – more than 500 acres of forest. The tour includes 8 cables, 12 platforms, 3 trails and 1 hanging bridge total of 845m. Then the adventure cables – 2 twin cables for partner’s experience, longest cable of 750m (Superman style), steel towers, high velocity of 80 km per hour, 150m above the hidden valley. After the adventure depart to the central pacific coast where Manuel Antonio is located. It is one of the most luxuriant locations in Costa Rica, with spectacular white-grey sandy beaches fringed by thickly forested green hills. (Breakfast, Kosher Dinner)

Friday: Manuel Antonio | Catamaran

Today the catamaran island adventure begins at Quepos Harbor; cruising through the aquamarine waters toward the spectacular and scenic coastline of Manuel Antonio Park. Soon you will be in open water and on the lookout for spotted dolphins, migrating humpback whales, sea turtles and manta rays. You will be captivated by the sight of dolphins frolicking at the boat’s wake, or the inimitable sound of a whale’s song. These are the nesting grounds and home for numerous species of marine birds, including pelicans, boobies and ibises. After touring the coastline, you will anchor in a protected cove within the pristine Biesanz Bay for snorkeling. Lunch on board. (Breakfast, Kosher Fish Lunch, Kosher Dinner)

Saturday (Shabbat): Manuel Antonio National Park

Today visit Manuel Antonio National Park which preserves beautiful beaches, the unique formation of the Punta Cathedral, mangroves, a set of offshore islands and a humid tropical forest. The park has four beaches, each with its special characteristics. A guide will take you through the park to see numerous species of butterflies, monkeys, raccoons, coatis, agoutis, two-toed sloths, snakes, orchids, etc. (Breakfast, Kosher Dinner)

Sunday: Manuel Antonio | Poas Volcano | La Paz Waterfall | San Jose

Today, we will drive to the city of Alajuela passing by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument of Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. As we ascend towards the Poás Volcano we will notice the change in temperature and vegetation; see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape. At the Poás Volcano we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park. Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden and the frog’s exhibit. Then, go to your hotel in San Jose and rest. Monday: Depart San Jose
