Various elements of this tour requires participants to have a high fitness background. IWorld of Travel will require notice if any participant has any physical or other condition or disability that could create a hazard to him/herself. I World of Travel reserves the right to decline acceptance of anyone whom it considers unsuitable due to fitness level. There are many inherent risks in adventure travel of the type involved here which could result in illness, injury or even death. These risks are increased by the fact that this trip takes place in a remote location far from medical facilities. Passenger assumes all risks associated with participating in this program.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival In Puerto Natales | Puerto Bories
Upon arrival in Puerto Natales, a short welcome briefing. Those choosing our ‘self-drive’ option will also be met and everyone will be transferred to The Singular Hotel at Puerto Bories. The Singular’s talented chefs will seek to spoil you with exquisite dishes, featuring authentic Patagonian cuisine. (D)

Day 2: Puerto Natales | Hosteria Helsingfors
The moment builds when you are handed the keys to your road ready 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon equipped with 4-wheel drive, automatic transmission, state of the art GPS and a satellite telephone. Drive along the shores of Argentina’s largest lake, and on the edge of the lake El Calafate. As you continue your journey, gaze at the wondrous Lago Viedma. The final destination is Hosteria Helsingfors in Los Glaciares National Park, centered on a myriad of floating and melting icebergs calved from Viedma Glacier farther up the fjord. Continue to the Estancia Los Hermanos, the trail opens to a variety of the local flora and fauna. After dinner, take advantage of the long evening light to enjoy a short walk around the Hosteria, and learn more about the history of the place while walking the arbors, gardens or lake shore. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Hosteria Helsingfors – Horseback Riding to the Blue Lagoon
After a short ride on horseback, reach the summit of Huemul hill (the top of the valley) and see the full magnitude of Mount Fitz Roy to the north across Lake Viedma. Just before reaching a waterfall high in the valley, leave the horses to set out on foot up the valley past the spectacular, nearly 1,000 foot waterfall. Continue on foot for another hour climb, to the turquoise Blue Lagoon (Note: the weather is changeable here and at times you may even be greeted by snow for an equally beautiful landscape). Upon return, have a delicious dinner and drinks around the fireplace. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Depart Helsingfors for Perito Moreno Glacier
Depart Helsingfors in the morning for a visit to Los Glaciares National Park for a truly magnificent spectacle that is the Perito Moreno Glacier which happens to be one of the world’s only advancing glaciers. After this adventure, travel by mini bus to the boardwalk of Perito Moreno with its great views of the glacier and lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch select from three options:A 1 ½ hour hike on the glacier. A leisurely one-hour cruise aboard a large motorized catamaran. Visit the Glaciarium Museum with its 3-D cinematic tour of the glaciers. (B,L)

Day 5: El Calafate | Patagonia Camp
After breakfast, head out to the town of El Calafate, with its great options for souvenir shopping. Continue to Patagonia camp near Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. On the route, marvel at the beautiful landscapes of the Patagonia Pampa. Upon arrival at the camp, settle in before dining on an incredibly tasteful menu of local products. (B,D)

Day 6: French Valley | Torres del Paine National Park
For breakfast, a full assortment of fresh juices, fruits, cereals, breads, meats and more. Depart the lodge for views of the rising Logo Toro, Serrano River, and the turquoise waters of rio Paine. During this entire drive, be treated to eye popping views of the towering Cuernos (horns). Arrive at the dock at Pudeto where Jeep® vehicles get exchanged for a waiting catamaran. The catamaran ride will take you past Salto Grande Waterfall, and then west, arriving at the dock at the far northwest corner of the lake and Paine Grande Lodge. Then set off on a 4.7-mile hike (each way), roughly 4 to 5 hours round trip. You don’t have to do the entire trek, though this is recommended, and we will point out various scenic stopping off points on your map. Hiking among Lenga forests, rivers and brushy trails, reach several scenic spots that offer incredible panoramic views. At the end of the trail, have a spectacular view of the hanging glaciers of the Paine Grande massif. In such an awe-inspiring location, words simply can’t provide a complete picture. Return to the Patagonia camp for relaxation, maybe a drink on the deck prior to dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Torres del Paine National Park
After an early breakfast, bid farewell to Patagonia camp and set out by vehicle for a full day’s reconnaissance of Torres del Paine National Park. This is the best way to get to experience all aspects of the National Park, by touring its more famous highlights. Included in today’s drive is the opportunity to enjoy leisurely walks that take in the full spectrum of the park’s flora and fauna, in company with various breathtaking views of the Paine Massif, surrounding lakes and countryside: all captured in the ever changing far southern sunlight. This is a day for those seeking the ultimate view where there is never a dull moment. Then continue northeast to Laguna Azul (Blue Lagoon). After lunch at the edge of Laguna Azul, drive south along the park’s eastern edge to the shores of Lago Sarmiento. Across the lake, the Paine Massif dominates the skyline as we reach our one of a kind resting place for the day, Tierra Patagonia hotel & spa. (B,L)

Day 8: Depart Torres del Paine National Park
Use the morning to pack, relax at the spa, or stroll along the waters of Lago Sarmiento to enjoy one last magnificent view of Torres del Paine. After an early lunch at Tierra Patagonia, one final short drive from the hotel back to Puerto Natales, to drop off the vehicles and bid farewell to magnificent Patagonia. Transfer to the airport in Puerto Natales for return flight to Santiago. (B,L)
