DAY 1
Wednesday: Arrival in Mumbai

Arrive in Mumbai, where you will be met, greeted then transferred to your hotel.

DAY 2
Thursday: Mumbai

After breakfast, drive to the Gateway of India and walk to the nearby jetty for an excursion to Elephanta Island, where you can see cave temples that have been carved out of rock. The evening is yours.(B)

DAY 3
Friday: Mumbai

Tour Mumbai, visiting the Sasson Docks, Hanging Garden, The Clock Tower, Albert Museum and other attractions. The last visit will be to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a historic railway station a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the evening, drive to Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue and attend a Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by Kiddush and dinner. Following dinner, you can walk back to the hotel.(B,D)

DAY 4
Saturday: Mumbai

After breakfast, walk to back to the synagogue for Shaharit. The service will be followed by Kiddush and a meal. In the afternoon, visit the Prince of Wales Museum. In the evening, following Havdela, enjoy a one-hour night tour of Mumbai, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.(B,L,D)

DAY 5
Sunday: Mumbai

Start today early, in time to take a boat ride to visit Jewish villages near the popular coastal town of Alibaug. Visit two old synagogues, one from the early 1900s the other from the 1840s. In Alibaug, you will also visit the Jewish Cemetery and Memorial. In the evening, return by boat to Mumbai. (B)

DAY 6
Monday: Mumbai | Cochin

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cochin. Meet and assist on arrival, and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon visit to the Mattancherry Synagogue. In the evening, we will visit the Folk Art Theatre. (B)

DAY 7
Tuesday: Cochin

Visit three synagogues in a city on the outskirts of Cochin. In the afternoon, visit Kadavumbahagam Synagogue and walk through Jew Street. The evening is yours to relax or explore the city. (B)

DAY 8
Wednesday: Cochin

Excursion to Alappuzha (formerly known as Alleppey), often called “the Venice of the East” and a very popular tourist destination Kerala. Board a boat for a full-day backwater cruise and explore the rural countryside. Return to Cochin for dinner.(B,L)

DAY 9
Thursday: Cochin | Kolkata

Morning is at leisure to explore old Fort Cochin on your own. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Kolkata via Chennai. Meet and assist on arrival and transfer to your hotel. (B)

DAY 10
Friday: Kolkata

Early morning heritage walk of B.B.D. Bagh, formerly called Dalhousie Square, with its colonial architecture and historical landmarks. Return for late breakfast at your hotel, or optional “English Breakfast” at Flury’s. Continue sightseeing to the Park Street Cemetery and Victoria Memorial. Evening cruise on the Hooghly River with drinks and dinner. (B,D)

DAY 11
Saturday: Kolkata

This morning travel to North Kolkata – “The Black Town’, and visit the Jain Temple Complex. Proceed to the Bengali Quarter, the bastion of Bengali culture. After lunch, visit Kumartulli, where giant lifelike religious idols are created for the city’s numerous festivals. On the way back, visit Mother Theresa’s home and the center of her Missionaries of Charity.(B,L)

DAY 12
Sunday: Kolkata | Delhi

This morning, fly to Delhi and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then drive through Luytens’ Delhi area of New Delhi, known for its colonial architecture. In the evening, visit a local synagogue and interact with the Rabbi followed by talks on the living faiths of India.(B)

DAY 13
Monday: Delhi

After breakfast, visit the 16th-century Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site and explore Old Delhi by rickshaw. The afternoon is yours to continue exploring this marvelous city or to relax at your hotel.(B,L)

DAY 14
Tuesday: Depart Delhi

After breakfast, transfer to airport for your return flight.(B)
