Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Liberia | Tenorio Volcano National Park
Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting for you at the airport for assistance. You will receive a recent-model 4 x 4 vehicle, equipped with GPS and a roof-rack and you are ready to explore the amazing terrain of the northern part of Costa Rica. Drive about 2 hours through plantations towards the Tenorio Volcano National Park. After you arrive at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax by the pool or check the nearby forest trails.

Day 2: Tenorio Volcano National Park
After breakfast, a quick drive to Tenorio Volcano National Park. You will hike through the cloud forest of Tenorio National Park, where you can still see some of the activity of the now dormant volcano. See the most extraordinary phenomena of nature, the sky-blue waters the Celeste River, formed by the union of the pristine Buena Vista and Roble Rivers. After the hike, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy the hotel facilities or take an optional tour (not included). (B)

Day 3: Tenorio Volcano National Park | Arenal Lake
Your trip continues by traveling south in the direction of the Arenal Lake, a 1.5- hour drive throughout the beautiful landscapes of mountains and valleys. There are lonely roads that lead to a special place filled with tranquility and peace, the shores of the massive Arenal Lake, where you will enjoy an intimate stay at a yoga retreat. You will be surrounded by beautiful fruit trees and exotic flowers, natural pools, tree-houses and rivers. (B)

Day 4: Arenal Lake
The day is yours at leisure. You can take a yoga class or perhaps a massage/spa treatment and rejuvenate yourself with all the comfort of a boutique hotel. In case you want some adventure, we recommend you take an optional tour with the hotel, such as kayaking and paddleboarding, which are popular too. Another alternative is to visit the Arenal Volcano. (B)

Day 5: Arenal Lake | Tamarindo Beach
Drive about 2.5 hours to the beautiful white sand beach of Tamarindo. You will pass through traditional towns, where you can see some cowboys work the land and care for their cattle. Your hotel is a boutique property located only 5 minutes walking distance from the beach and close to everything in town. The afternoon is yours to explore the beach and enjoy the warm waters of the tropical Pacific Coast, that are perfect for swimming and doing various water sports. The beautiful sunsets of Tamarindo are a sight that you will never forget. (B)

Day 6: Tamarindo Beach
The day is yours to enjoy the beach and explore the coast at your own pace. There are several shops in town that offer surfboard, bicycles, ATVs and small golf car rentals so you can explore the nearby beaches and towns. This former quiet fishing town is now the area’s most developed and accessible tourist town. Despite the town’s recent and ongoing development, it retains the laid-back vibe that is so characteristic of the region. (B)

Day 7: Tamarindo Beach
The morning is yours to relax. After lunch, board a catamaran and silently glide along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white sand beaches and tropical jungles. Gaze off the bow with a cold tropical drink as you scan the seas for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish or even a breaching whale. Stop in a tranquil bay to snorkel in the blue Pacific or run down the deserted beach for a feast prepared by the crew. (B,L)

Note: The catamaran tour is also available in the morning.

Day 8: Tamarindo Beach | Departure from Liberia
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
