Arrival in Havana

Welcome to Havana! Upon arrival, transfer to your elegant hotel in the oceanfront Vedado district, considered the Beverly Hills of Havana. (D)


Explore Old Havana to admire the ongoing restoration transforming this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Old City plazas, gleaming colonial places, the Rum Museum and other landmarks. After lunch, travel to the port of Havana to visit the famous Almacenes de San Jose crafts market. (B,L,D)

Havana | Matanzas | Varadero

Visit one of Havana’s oldest and most famous cigar factories which was founded in 1845 by Spaniard Jaime Partagás. Then travel through the Cuban countryside to arrive at the city of Matanzas, known both as the “Venice of Cuba” due to its 21 bridges that traverse the city and the “Athens of Cuba” for its renowned poets that have written many great works of literature here. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour. Then continue to the resort area of Varadero. (B,L,D)

Varadero | Matanzas | Varadero

Visit a local artist gallery to exchange views with the local artists. Visit Ediciones Vigía, which produces beautiful handmade books, manufactured by a group of dedicated artisans, that are not only of literary value but also unique works of art. After lunch, continue to the Matanzas School of Fine Arts and the Castle of San Severino, completed n 1735, home to The Museum of the Slave Trade in Cuba. (B,L,D)

Varadero | Havana

Visit Finca Vigia “Lookout Farm,” which was Ernest Hemingway’s winter home from 1939 to 1960 and see the author’s 9,000 volume library, yacht and typewriter. Then return to Havana with some free time to relax. (B,L,D)


See one Cuba’s most interesting art projects, Fusterlandia, created by the native Cuban artist José Rodríguez Fuster. Then continue to the studio of Alexis Leyva Machado, a world-renowned sculptor, and his art project known as Kcho. Next, visit the Experimental Graphics Studio, founded in 1962 by mural artist Orlando Suarez with the support of Che Guevara. (B,L,D)


Visit the Muraleando Art Project where Cuban and international artists have used almost every available wall as canvas for hundreds of beautiful painted murals. After lunch, meet with members of the Havana Compas Dance Company which combines the essence of Spanish dance with Afro-Cuban rhythms. (B,L,D)
