A tour of Sibenik in the morning reveals the rich cultural and historical heritage of the city. We will visit the impressive Cathedral of St. Jacob, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the famous monument by Jura Dalmatinac, and enjoy the walk along the “Kalelarga.” In Šibenik there are many churches, monasteries, and palaces plus four fortresses that surround the city. It is a city of culture, full of history and with a modern lifestyle. Sibenik is also host to the only International Children’s Festival as well as many Croatian music events. The tour will last about 3 hours, and afterward, you will have time to continue discovering the city on your own, relax at the beach, or have a fun afternoon at the fabulous Aqua Park (entrance fee to be paid on the spot). DAY 3
DAY 3: Monday Šibenik - Plitvice Lakes - Zadar - Šibenik

This morning after breakfast, we will travel to Plitvice Lakes, the oldest national park in southeast Europe, and the largest one in Croatia. Its 16 lakes, connected with waterfalls and surrounded by lush vegetation, make Plitvice an absolutely unique place in the world. This natural phenomenon is Croatia’s priceless jewel. Here we will enjoy a tour of the lakes that includes a boat ride to one of the most beautiful waterfalls. After the tour, we will have lunch to sample some of the specialties typical of this region of Croatia, and you will have some free time to enjoy this lovely place on your own. Later, on our way back to Šibenik, we will stop to visit Zadar, another fantastic Croatian coastal town surrounded by walls and towers on a peninsula, connected by a bridge to the new, modern part of the city. We will visit the old town, a treasure trove of archaeological riches from the ancient, medieval, and Renaissance periods. We visit the church of St. Donatus, the Roman Forum, view the Cathedral of St. Anastasia and later we will enjoy a symphony of the Sea Organ and admire the magical urban light installation called Greeting to the Sun. We will find our way back to our hotel in Šibenik in the early evening. (B, L)

DAY 4
DAY 4: Tuesday Šibenik - Vodice - Kornati National Park - Šibenik

Today after breakfast we head to the town of Vodice where we board a boat to the Kornati Archipelago that consists of 140 uninhabited islands, islets, and reefs. The legend says the Kornati Islands were created from a number of rocks that God had left over after creating the world. He tossed them into the Adriatic Sea, looked at them, and decided it is perfect as it is. These islands are famous for their unique shapes and high cliffs. Today we will dive into this paradise, visit the national park, swim, admire the scenery, and hopefully spot some wild dolphins! On one of the islands, we will enjoy an authentic Dalmatian lunch. Afterward, we will have some free time in Vodice before returning to the hotel in Šibenik for a relaxing evening on your own. (B, L)

DAY 5
DAY 5: Wednesday Šibenik - Krka National Park - Šibenik

Today we take a trip to Krka National Park, yet another wonder of nature in Croatia. Krka is one of the most beautiful, untouched rivers of Croatia with 7 gorgeous waterfalls. The largest part of its course is through the national park which in addition to its natural wonders, abounds in cultural and historical monuments. The most precious of these is the Franciscan Monastery on a tiny island set in the middle of the river, and the old mills that have been transformed into small ethnographic museums where we will witness the process of grounding wheat from the old days. In Krka, you will have some time to swim and sunbathe, before heading back to Šibenik. Tonight enjoy the last evening in Šibenik. (B, L)

DAY 6
DAY 6: Thursday Šibenik - Split - Hvar

This morning we say goodbye to Sibenik and head toward Split. Our first stop will be the Split Aquarium where we view the magic life in the Adriatic Sea. The rest of our day will be dedicated to discovering Split, a 1,700-year-old town that has grown around its heart, the Dioklecian’s Palace, the historical center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will stroll the narrow streets of Diocletian’s Palace, built by the 4th century Roman Emperor, tour its excellently preserved basement galleries and visit the old Temple of Jupiter in the central, ancient Peristyle Square, and the city Cathedral one of the oldest buildings of its kind in the world. We will also pass the protected Golden and Silver Gates, walk through the historic squares and the popular Riva. You will have some free time in Split before we board a ferry that will take us to one of the most stunning islands, the island of Hvar. Upon arrival transfer to our hotel in Hvar. (B)

DAY 7
DAY 7: Friday Hvar (Stari Grad and Vrboska)

We will start our day with a walking tour of Hvar town, a unique blend of luxurious Mediterranean natural surroundings super-rich in cultural and historical heritage. We will enjoy the shade in the narrow cobbled streets, visit the Cathedral of St. Stephen and stroll the city’s main square and the Arsenal of the oldest European theatre from the 17th century. Later on, we will take the scenic road toward the northern side of the island and stop for a delicious lunch of local specialties. We will visit the towns of Stari Grad, the oldest on the island, established by the Greeks in ancient times; and Vrboska, home to a mighty fortress, and often called Little Venice for its bridges over a creek that ends up in the long bay. We return to Hvar this afternoon with the balance of the day free to relax at the beach, try out one of the many local restaurants, or continue to explore this lovely island town on your own. For an amazing view and captivating pictures, take a hike up to the Spanjol fortress overlooking Hvar and the Hell’s islands right in front of it. (B, L)

DAY 8
DAY 8: Saturday Hvar - Jelsa - Bol (Brac Island) - Jelsa - Hvar

This morning will start with a transfer to Jelsa, another picturesque island town. We will stroll the streets on the way to board our boat to the Bol, on the island of Brac. Hopefully we will be lucky enough during the 2-hour sail to spot some dolphins as the sea between Hvar and Brac is full of them! Arrive in Bol and join your tour manager for an orientation tour. Take a taxi boat (payment on the spot), or just walk to go swimming at Golden Cape, the most famous beach in Croatia. Enjoy some time on this unique, gorgeous pebbly beach, and walk all the way to the end that changes shape depending on the winds. Our boat will depart back toward Hvar in the afternoon. Upon arrival you will have some time in Jelsa and your tour manager will show you where you can taste the best ice cream on the island before returning to Hvar Town. (B)

DAY 9
DAY 9: Sunday Hvar - Dubrovnik

Upon arrival to Dubrovnik, we will transfer to our hotel with some free time to relax at the pool or at a nearby beach. In the late afternoon, we gather again to head out to Dubrovnik’s old town. After a short walk that takes us from one city gate to another, we will board the ship Karaka, a magnificent replica of a traditional merchant ship from the 16th century, when Dubrovnik was a Republic with a blossoming economy. We will enjoy a 2-hour sunset cruise with a buffet-style dinner, and a view of the Dubrovnik walls from the sea while the sun sets into the waters of the Adriatic (keep an eye out for the dolphins!)
