Arrive in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. Be welcomed by your private guide and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon enjoy a panoramic tour of this vivacious city, known as the “Paris of South America.” Drive along Avenida 9 de Julio, the world’s largest boulevard. Continue to Plaza de Mayo with the imposing Presidential Palace, Town Hall, the Tomb of Evita Perón at the Recoleta Cemetery Drive and and other places of interest in this European-style city.
Spend the day in the countryside, in a typical ranch (“estancia”), enjoying a gaucho-style barbecue lunch, followed by traditional folk music and dance.
The ranch has belonged to the same family since 1860. Its 2,965 acres are devoted mainly to agriculture, but also to cattle and horse breeding. A couple of years ago the place began to receive visitors, and it started to adapt its facilities for that purpose. There is a main house and some straw-roofed constructions, with the dining-room, the ‘pulpería’ (a traditional general store which was a social gathering point for the gauchos at sunset) and the grid iron.
Be welcomed with a drink and some ’empanadas,’ then enjoy a typical Argentine barbecue. After lunch, enjoy a folklore show with live music, dancing and a tango demonstration, followed by ‘Cuadreras’ ring races where gauchos show their skills as riders. For those interested, there are horses and ‘sulkies’ (kind of two-wheeled chart) to have a tour. Later on, home-made pastries and mate tea will be served. (B)
Transfer to the airport for flight to Iguassu. Upon arrival, be welcomed by an English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel.
During the afternoon enjoy an organized tour of the Aboriginal Iriapu Village. This visit is a unique and unforgettable experience to appreciate the Guarani culture with its traditional way of life and connection with nature. In addition, see many of their handicrafts, such as carvings, necklaces, baskets, and other many lovely creations of the Guarani. (B)
Enjoy a tour through the park via a sightseeing train. Walk to the highest point of the falls and, among the abundant nature filled with orchids, colorful birds and enjoy the spectacularly unique views of the ‘Cataratas’. Join a unique boat tour that showcases the essence of the 240 waterfalls and the surrounding jungle of the Iguassu National Park. The tour starts by entering the jungle from the “Sendero Yacaratía” trail. After the 8 km ride, embark on motorboats and head out on a 6 km ride through the Canyon of the Iguassu River, through the rapids and up to the falls. After enjoying the view from the calm side of the San Martin Island and then on to the Três Mosqueteiros Waterfall, where the Brazilian and Argentinean sides of the Garganta do Diabowaterfall can be clearly appreciated. Afterwards, you will get to the wonderful and unforgettable San Martin waterfall, the most exciting part of the tour and the largest waterfall any motorboat can approach safely. (B)
