DAY 1
Arrival in Buenos Aires

Morning arrival in Buenos Aires, considered the most cosmopolitan city in south America; meeting and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 2
Buenos Aires

Tour begins at the Plaza de Mayo, continue to Casa Rosada (the President’s residence), Avenida 9 de Julio (the world’s widest boulevard), the Cathedral, the Tomb of General José de San Martin and other places of interest. Along the way, stop to enjoy the delicious pastry and coffee at a historic, world famous café. At night, dinner and tango show. (B,D)

DAY 3
Buenos Aires

After breakfast, the day is at leisure to discover this wonderful city on your own. Visit the San Telmo Antique Market (Sundays only). Or, take a full-day optional tour to an Argentine ranch (“estancia”) and enjoy a gaucho-style barbecue lunch featuring traditional folklore and dance. (B)

DAY 4
Buenos Aires | Iguassu Falls

Late morning flight to Iguassu Falls, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders then transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

DAY 5
Iguassu Falls

Morning tour of the Argentine side of the falls, including a visit to famous Devil’s Throat, the most magnificent of the cataracts – view and photograph the thundering waters falling below. Stop at the national park, before transferring to the airport for flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel. (B)

DAY 6
Iguassu | Rio de Janeiro

After breakfast, visit the Brazilian side of the falls for a fabulous scenic walk. Afterwards, flight to Rio de Janeiro, the pulsating “sun, fun and samba” capital of South America. Transfer to hotel upon arrival. (B)

DAY 7
Rio de Janeiro

Morning drive through Copacabana, one of the world’s most famous beaches. Then enjoy a cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain for a panoramic view of the beaches and Guanabara Bay. At night, a feast for the senses – experience some of Rio’s highlife on a “Rio by Night” tour, including dinner at a traditional Churrascaria (barbecue) restaurant, followed by an exciting Brazilian samba show. DAY 8
Rio de Janeiro

Morning drive through this bustling city to the base of Corcovado Mountain, then a short and scenic train ride through the forest to the summit. Here, 2,300 feet above the city, stands one of South America’s most famous and inspiring landmarks. Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, embark on a small train which climbs the beautiful mountainside. Upon reaching the top, experience a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why it is known as the “Marvelous City”! Afternoon optional visit to H. Stern to tour the world of exotic gemstones and witness the fascinating process of jewel creation. (B)

DAY 9
Depart Rio de Janeiro

Day at leisure for last minute shopping or sunning on one of Rio’s famous beaches. Evening transfer to the airport for return flight to the USA. (B)
