Day 1: Arrival in Costa Rica
Upon arrival, you will be met and then driven to the Arenal Volcano area. During the drive, you will receive an introduction to Costa Rica and some recommendations for your trip. The evening is yours to explore the dining options and nightlights in La Fortuna village.
Day 2: Arenal Volcano
Hike across the Arenal Hanging Bridges, spanning 2 miles, they allow you to admire the jungle not only from the ground but also from the treetops. Then, visit the breathtaking La Fortuna waterfall for a relaxing swim followed by a traditional Costa Rican lunch. Finish the day with a leisurely walk through the Arenal Volcano National Park, where you have the chance to enjoy the amazing scenery. (B,L)
Day 3: Arenal Volcano | Nicoya Peninsula
Transfer to the beautiful area of the Nicoya Peninsula. Your 1-hour ferry boat ride will allow you many opportunities to see dolphins, turtles, stingrays and other marine wildlife. The afternoon is yours to enjoy the beach and explore the hotel property, where you will find horses, a 9-hole golf course, and some lookouts with breathtaking views. (B)
Day 4: Nicoya Peninsula
Enjoy a relaxing cruise to the Curu Nature Reserve. Along the way, watch sea birds, jumping fish, dolphins, whales, and sea turtles. Explore the trails of the reserve that are surrounded by the dense rainforest. There is a large variety of wild animals, including monkeys; they live in a natural habitat that coexists with the plantations and the cattle farms. Later, return to your boat and head to Tortuga Island, where you can snorkel and admire the coral reef and aquatic life. You can also enjoy a stroll along the gorgeous white sand beaches and rent kayaks and other water sports equipment if desired. Before returning to the hotel, enjoy a short mangrove safari where you will hear the sounds of the jungle and see some of the hundreds of types of birds and animals which have lived in this mangrove for many centuries. Day 5: Nicoya Peninsula | San Jose City
Transfer to San Jose for a free afternoon to explore the city and visit museums, historical buildings, or the central avenue, a place where you can interact with locals and learn a little about the meaning of “Pura Vida”. (B)
Day 6: Depart San Jose
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
