Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Mexico City
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the early evening, enjoy a wine tasting of one of Mexico´s top wines at a wine boutique in Polanco. The rest of the evening is yours to walk through Polanco’s beautiful tree-lined streets and enjoy dinner at one of the area’s many gourmet Mexican restaurants.

Day 2: Mexico City
Meet a professional chef who will take you on a market tour of “Mercado de San Juan”, one of the oldest and most unique markets in Mexico City, followed by a 5-course cooking class with wine pairing. Later, enjoy a brief walking tour (approx 3 hours) of downtown historical Mexico City. This experience concludes with a tasting at one of the most recognized “chocolaterias” in town, where you will taste and learn all about Mexico´s cacao and chocolate legacy over delectable artisan chocolate…a true delight for all of the senses! Day 3: Mexico City | San Miguel de Allende
Transfer to San Miguel De Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage site, for a walking tour of the colorful and art-filled city. Early this evening, experience a tequila tasting in Casa Dragones, home to one of the finest, premium tequila brands of Mexico. Visit the historic 17th century Casa Dragones house (otherwise closed to the public) for a private tequila presentation of this limited edition, hand-crafted tequila. (B)

Day 4: San Miguel de Allende
Morning market tour, where you will have a chance to meet local vendors, most of them women farmers from the surrounding countryside, who each day bring to the market what they have personally grown or produced. After this vivid introduction to the abundance of local produce, you will be ready for your cooking class where you will learn how basic ingredients can be used in creative and delicious ways. This hands-on class offers a chance for every participant to help prepare authentic Mexican dishes from scratch. After your work in the kitchen, sit down, relax and enjoy the lunch you have prepared. (B,L)

Day 5: San Miguel de Allende
Delve into the world of local wine with visits to two boutique wineries right outside of San Miguel de Allende. Start with a visit to an organic farm, which produces an array of produce. The visit to this rustic yet naturally beautiful farmland is transformed into a mystical journey upon arrival to their underground wine cellar, where your wine tasting will take place. Afterwards, visit a neighboring vineyard (also organic) and tour their property and wine-making facilities. This special experience ends with a tasting in their new barrel room. (B)

Day 6: San Miguel de Allende | Departure from Mexico City
