Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Sofia
Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Then you will have plenty of time to relax before your welcome dinner. (D)

Day 2: Sofia
Half-day city tour, including visits to the National History Museum where the gold and silver Thracian treasures are displayed and the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, one of the largest churches in the world. The evening is at leisure to relax. (B)

Day 3: Sofia | Belgrade
Transfer to Nis for an orientation tour and lunch. Then head to Belgrade for dinner with local live music in a typical national restaurant. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Belgrade
Morning sightseeing tour of the city’s main attractions, including the imposing Belgrade Fortress dramatically situated at the joining of the Sava and Danube River, the most visited tourist attraction in Belgrade; the Republic Square and Knez Mihajlova Street; Saint Sava Temple, the largest Orthodox Church in the city; and Tito’s Memorial. Day 5: Belgrade | Novi Sad | Timisoara
After breakfast departure to Novi Sad, the second largest Serbian city. Upon arrival, enjoy a walking tour including the Petrovaradin Fortress, Liberty Square, the Cathedral, City Council, Zmaj Jovina and Dunavaska Street. Continue to the Romanian city of Timisoara and view the Huniade Castle, which is the only remains of the Timisoara Fortress (B,D)

Day 6: Timisoara | Sibiu
Visit the Hunedoara Castle, one of Europe’s largest castles. The monument has a special glamour due to its different construction styles, the presence of military and civil innovations as well as for the impetuous court life that animated it for more than 400 years. Continue to Sibiu for dinner. (B,D)

Day 7: Sibu | Sighisoara | Brasov
After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Sibiu, once the richest town in Transylvania. During the tour, you will see Huet Square, the Large Square, the Evangelical Cathedral, the Liars‘ Bridge and others. Continue towards Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the best-preserved medieval city in southeastern Europe. Your sightseeing tour includes entrance to the famous Clock Tower Museum. Continue to Brasov for a walking tour, including a visit to the First Romanian School with an impressive collection of rare books. Dinner in a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 8: Brasov | Bucharest
Following breakfast departure towards Bran. Visit Bran Castle made famous by Bram Stoker‘s novel as the residence of the vampire Count Dracula. Before arriving in Bucharest, stop in Peles Castle built as the summer residence of King Carol I. Afterwards, continue to the 17th-century Sinaia Monastery. (B,D)

Day 9: Bucharest
Get acquainted with the Romanian capital, once nicknamed “Little Paris”. During the tour, you will visit the Palace of the Parliament, the second-largest building in the world after the Pentagon and the National Treasury, as well as many of the city’s other landmarks. In the evening, a farewell dinner with a folklore show. (B,D)

Day 10: Departure from Bucharest
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
