Day 1: Sunday – Madrid
Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel. The remainder of the day is yours.
Day 2: Monday – Madrid | Lerma
Travel to the Rioja Wine Region. Enjoy fine wine tasting in a 13th-century monastic dining hall of a Romanesque abbey. Continue to Lerma, via Roa and Aranda de Duero, two of the most important winery villages of the region. (B)
Day 3: Tuesday – Lerma | Burgos | Santo Domingo De La Calzada
Drive to Burgos and visit the Cathedral built in 1221, Arch of Santa María and Casa del Cordón. Continue to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. (B)
Day 4: Wednesday – Santo Domingo De La Calzada
Wine tasting at some of the best wine cellars in Rioja, one of Spain’s best winemaking regions. Visit the famous Torre Exenta and the Cathedral. (B)
Day 5: Thursday -Santo Domingo De La Calzada | Olite
Depart toward Olite. En-route, visit the Wine Culture Museum in the old village of Briones and enjoy wine tasting with a sommelier. Continue to the preserved medieval village LaGuardia and explore the ancient streets. (B)
Day 6: Friday – Olite | Sigüenza
Tour the quaint village of Olite and the French-Gothic Castle-Palace. Stroll along the narrow streets with their manor stone houses. Continue to Cariñena and enjoy a wine tasting at the Cellars Señorío de Ayles. (B)
Day 7: Saturday – Sigüenza | Madrid
Visit the villages of Sigüenza and Alcalá de Henares. Visit the University of Alcalá, founded in 1499, the House of Hippolytus (a Roman villa), the old Jewish Quarter and the Museum of Casa Natal, the birthplace of Cervantes. (B)
Day 8: Sunday – Depart Madrid
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
