Day 1 Glasgow
Begin your journey in Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city. Check into your chosen accommodation, whether it be a stylish hotel in the city center or a cozy guesthouse. Explore Glasgow’s vibrant cultural scene, with options ranging from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to the cutting-edge exhibitions at the Riverside Museum. Stroll through Glasgow’s bustling streets, perhaps discovering the architectural marvels of the Glasgow School of Art or enjoying the lively atmosphere of Buchanan Street. Visit Glasgow Cathedral, one of Scotland’s most magnificent medieval buildings, Glasgow Cathedral is the only one on the Scottish mainland to survive the Reformation of 1560 intact. There will also be time to visit the extensive and varied art collections in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
Day 2 Burns Country
Depart for Rabbie Burns Country, where the first stop of the day is Burns National Heritage Park. The museum is the focal point of this beautifully landscaped park where visitors can cross the Brig o’Doon and visit the poet’s birthplace of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. Visit the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum to delve into the life and works of this literary giant. Later, continue to Culzean Castle in Ayrshire. Culzean is surrounded by surging seas, lush forests, and secret gardens. Enjoy a leisurely evening, perhaps savoring a meal inspired by traditional Scottish cuisine.
Day 3 Loch Ness & Inverness
Depart Glasgow for Inverness, traveling towards the iconic Loch Ness, famed for its mysterious waters. Take a boat cruise on Loch Ness, seeking a glimpse of the elusive Nessie or explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle with panoramic views of the loch. Continue to Inverness, the Highland capital. Stroll along the banks of the river Ness, marvel at Inverness Castle, and absorb the city’s historic charm.
Day 4 Isle of Skye
Start a day with a day trip to the island of Sky. Cross the picturesque Skye Bridge to reach the Isle of Skye, a haven of natural beauty. Explore iconic landmarks such as the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, and Fairy Pools. Visit Dunvegan Castle, home to the Clan MacLeod, and its lush gardens. Day 5 Culloden & Speyside
Journey to the haunting Culloden Battlefield, site of the 1746 Battle of Culloden, where the Jacobite Rising met its tragic end. Explore the visitor center, absorbing the poignant history of this significant site. Later, head to Speyside, Scotland’s whisky country, for a tour and tasting at one of the renowned distilleries. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Speyside as you savour the flavours of Scotch whisky with chocolate pairing.
Day 6 St. Andrews & Falkland
Visit St. Andrews, known for its ancient university, golf courses, and stunning coastal scenery. Explore the historic St. Andrews Castle and Cathedral, and perhaps walk along the West Sands beach. Continue to Falkland, a charming village surrounded by lush countryside. Visit Falkland Palace, a Renaissance palace built by King James V in 1539. with beautiful gardens, before relaxing in the quaint surroundings. The became a favourite retreat of the Stuart Dynasty including Mary Queen of Scots.
Day 7 Edinburgh
After breakfast you will enjoy an exclusive, pre-opening tour of Edinburgh Castle. Explore the Royal Mile, home to Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles’ Cathedral, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Take a stroll through the Princes Street Gardens, enjoying the view of the iconic Edinburgh Castle. In the evening attend the Spirit of Scotland Show, an evening of traditional entertainment and dinner at The Royal College of Surgeons.
