Korčula - Wine Tasting

Duration of service: 1–1.5 hours

Korčula island is famous for its millennia-old tradition of winemaking. Unlike the rest of Dalmatia, which is known mostly for its red wine varieties, the Island of Korčula is renowned above all for the quality of its white wine made from its native grapevine varieties.

In the central region of the Island, Pošip and Rukatac varieties are cultivated, while in Lumbarda, on the eastern side of the island, Grk vineyards are located. Among the red wine varieties, the most popular one is Plavac Mali.

The wine of Korčula is celebrated for its excellent properties, complexity, accentuated varietal aroma, and high alcohol content, which reflects the Mediterranean sunshine, scents, and tastes. It is distinguished for its exceptionally low acidity—unusual among southern wine varieties—and this is why it is such a pleasure to taste it.

Vis - Military Tour

Price per person: $112
Duration: up to 3.5 hours

Vis Island holds many historical secrets, from the time of Diomedes to the more modern wars when Vis was marked by the English presence on the Adriatic Sea, at the times of being part of Francis Joseph’s empire, to becoming the base of commands of Tito and resistance partisans. Fortresses, military subways, and labyrinths of tunnels spread throughout the island.

But some of the most attractive sights are the military tunnels dug throughout the island after 1945, when it was a major military base for the Yugoslav army. There are over 30 different military objects scattered across the island. One of the most attractive is the missile base at Stupišće point near Komiža. It was a huge base for land-sea missiles with an impressive tunnel and bunker complex to be on alert in case of invasion.

Departing from Komiža or Vis, you will visit the Cape Stupišće, with its cannon battery and rocket base, as well as the Vela Glava military tunnel. Afterwards, we ascend to Hum, the highest peak on the Island, and enjoy the amazing views of the archipelago. You will also visit the cave where Tito, the marshal of the partisan forces, hid during his time on the island.

Included in the price: pick up in Vis or Komiža, history and adventure/ Off-road tour with Land Rover jeeps, helmet and lamps.

Notes: Please wear good shoes. The excursion is suitable for children above the age of 6 and people with limited mobility.
