Day 2 | Friday · May 22, 2026 | Montenegro

Escape the bustling streets of Dubrovnik for a day and journey south along the scenic Adriatic coastline to Montenegro, a land of dramatic mountains, medieval towns, and deep cultural heritage. This full-day excursion takes you through some of the region’s most breathtaking landscapes, culminating in visits to Perast and Kotor, two jewels of the Bay of Kotor.

Your first stop is the enchanting baroque town of Perast, a small but elegant settlement nestled at the foot of Mount St. Elijah. Though tiny, Perast boasts a wealth of 17th- and 18th-century palaces and churches, remnants of its wealthy maritime past under Venetian rule.

From Perast, you’ll board a local boat for a short and scenic ride across the calm bay to the iconic Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks)—a man-made islet created over centuries by local sailors who laid stones and sank old ships to build the base. On the island stands a beautiful Catholic church and museum, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, housing an impressive collection of silver votives, maritime artifacts, and the famous embroidered tapestry woven by a local woman over decades—using her own hair.

The island offers panoramic views of the bay, perfect for photos and a moment of reflection in one of the region’s most unique religious and cultural sites.

After returning to the mainland, the journey continues to Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Adriatic’s best-preserved medieval towns. Surrounded by ancient city walls and watched over by the looming peaks of the Loven Mountain, Kotor is a labyrinth of narrow alleys, lively squares, and centuries-old buildings.

Explore Kotor’s Old Town at your own pace or with a guided tour: visit the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, admire Venetian palaces, peek into charming artisan shops, or climb part of the historic fortress wall for sweeping views over the bay. The town’s mix of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture reflects its long and complex history under Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian rule.

In the late afternoon, enjoy a leisurely return drive to Dubrovnik, passing scenic viewpoints along the Bay of Kotor and, time permitting, a stop at the border town of Herceg Novi or a coastal café.

This day trip blends natural beauty, seafaring legends, and centuries of history—an unforgettable adventure beyond borders and into the heart of the Adriatic.

Inclusions:
Breakfast, Transfers, Tour of Perast, Tour of Kotor, Gospe od Škrpjela tour and Boat Tickets, Dubrovnik Palace room

Cavtat boats on body of water surrounded by trees and houses near mountain under blue and white sky at daytime

Day 3 | Saturday · May 23, 2026 | Cavtat

Your journey today starts in the picturesque town of Cavtat, nestled along the Adriatic coast just a short drive south of Dubrovnik. Known for its laid-back charm, stunning waterfront, and deep historical roots, Cavtat offers an authentic glimpse into Dalmatian coastal life.

Stroll along the seafront promenade, shaded by tall palm trees and lined with cafés, yachts, and fishing boats bobbing in the crystal-clear waters. The town’s historic core is a blend of medieval and Renaissance architecture, with narrow stone streets leading to quiet squares and hidden corners.

Explore landmarks like the Rector’s Palace, which offers insight into Cavtat’s role during the Republic of Ragusa, and visit the House of Vlaho Bukovac, home to one of Croatia’s most celebrated painters. Art lovers will appreciate the preserved rooms, original works, and the personal story woven throughout the residence.

Stop at the Franciscan Monastery and Church of Our Lady of the Snow, with its peaceful cloister and views overlooking the bay. For panoramic vistas, a short walk uphill takes you to the Mausoleum of the Račić Family, designed by renowned sculptor Ivan Meštrović, where art, history, and spirituality blend against a breathtaking backdrop.

After the tour and free time, you’ll be welcomed into a traditional Dalmatian konoba for a warm and lively folklore lunch. This authentic experience features local specialties such as peka (meat or octopus slow-cooked under an iron bell), grilled fish, homemade cheeses, olives, and freshly baked bread—all paired with local wines and rakija (fruit brandy).

The highlight of the evening is a live performance of Croatian folk music and dance, with performers dressed in vibrant, handcrafted costumes representing the region’s cultural heritage. You’ll hear the stirring sounds of traditional instruments like the lijerica and witness dances that have been passed down for generations.

This unforgettable evening blends the flavors, sounds, and spirit of southern Croatia, leaving you with a true sense of connection to its people and traditions.

Plitvice waterfalls in the middle of green trees

Day 1 | Sunday · May 31, 2026 | Split – Plitvice Lakes National Park

Non-Croatians might not realize that there are seven National Parks in this southeastern European nation. That’s because Plitvice Lakes National Park gets the lion’s share of attention, overshadowing all other natural wonders in the region.

And for good reason. Once you set your eyes on this UNESCO World Heritage site’s turquoise-hued lakes connected via emerald green streams and lovely waterfalls, all of which are surrounded by lush forests of beech, spruce, and fir trees, you’ll get it. And you’ll wonder what took you so long to get here.

There is virtually nothing like Plitvice, pronounced “Pleet-veetz-say.” And it’s no trick being played on your eyes, no real life version of an Instagram filter: these radiant hues are worth traveling for. They’re real and they’re spectacular.

Enjoy a guided tour in the company of your guide, followed with some free time, and lunch in a local restaurant.
