Croatian Cruise Itinerary | September 4–12, 2027

Your Adriatic Journey Begins

I’m delighted to introduce you to an unforgettable Adriatic journey—one that begins in the storied city of Dubrovnik and unfolds island by island along Croatia’s most captivating coastline. This experience is more than a cruise; it’s a thoughtfully paced voyage that blends cultural immersion, natural beauty, and the effortless elegance of small-ship sailing.

Your journey opens in Dubrovnik, where medieval walls rise directly from the sea and centuries of history set a dramatic stage for what’s to come. After settling in along the tranquil Lapad Peninsula, you’ll step aboard the Avantura, your private floating retreat for the week ahead—designed for comfort, intimacy, and seamless exploration.

From Dubrovnik, the Adriatic reveals itself slowly and beautifully. You’ll sail to serene islands like Šipan and Mljet, wander the cobbled streets of Korčula and Hvar, experience the ethereal glow of the Blue Cave on Biševo, and discover the timeless charm of Komiža on Vis. Each day balances guided discovery with unhurried moments—swim stops in crystalline coves, leisurely lunches on deck, evenings in atmospheric ports, and signature onboard experiences like the Captain’s Dinner.

As the voyage continues north, UNESCO-listed towns such as Split and Trogir bring the journey to a memorable close, where Roman history and modern Mediterranean life coexist in perfect harmony.

This itinerary is all about rhythm and balance: curated sightseeing paired with scenic sailing, iconic highlights softened by hidden gems, and enriching experiences wrapped in the comfort of a small, attentive ship. It’s a refined and deeply rewarding way to experience Croatia—by sea, at just the right pace.

Let’s walk through your journey, day by day.

Dubrovnik – The Pearl of the Adriatic

Simply put, Dubrovnik is captivating. And stunning. And awe-inducing. Add just about any superlative and it might fit with this southern Dalmatian Coast town of about 40,000 people. After all, there are few places on the planet where a walled medieval town meets the warm azure-colored sea. It’s no wonder this Croatian town has been the star of Hollywood films and TV shows, such as Game of Thrones.

There are some must-dos in Dubrovnik: walk the 1.2 miles of thick 80-foot high walls, offering superb vistas of the town and the Adriatic sea looming behind it; take the cable car up to the top of Mt. Srd (pronounced Serj) for an even more stupendous view of the compact Stari Grad, or Old Town; take the 15-minute ferry from the Old Port to Lokrum Island, the small verdant isle that lingers just outside of Old Town for excellent sunbathing, swimming, and hiking.

But after that, the thing to do in Dubrovnik is to just stroll around the limestone-clad streets, soaking up the medieval-meets-the-Mediterranean vibe of the place. Join the locals in the early evening as they do a đir—pronounced “dzeer,” and derived from the Italian “giro” for doing a “tour”—consisting of strolling the “wide” main street of Old Town, called Stradun, perhaps grabbing a seat at an outdoor cafe and sipping a glass of locally made white wine or a potent rakia, the fruit brandy that is ubiquitous in this part of the world.

Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Daily Inclusions: Transfer to Port, Welcome Dinner, Cabin

In the evening, we put on our fanciest clothes and join the Captain for the world-famous Avantura Captain’s Dinner.

Day 4 | Tuesday | Šipan – Mljet National Park – Korčula

Upon arrival, you will visit the National Park, well known for its versatile eco-system and two salt lakes (‘’Veliko Jezero’’- Big Lake and ‘’Malo Jezero’’- Small Lake), as well as for the 12th-century Benedictine Monastery located on St Mary’s Islet.

After a relaxing stroll in the park and around the lakes, you’ll return to the boat for lunch while we cruise to the Island of Korčula.

The city of Korčula is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean, thought to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo.

After arriving in Korčula in the afternoon, you will join our guide for a walking tour of Korčula.

After the walking tour, enjoy your free evening and taste some homemade dishes in one of many restaurants.

Day 6 | Thursday | Hvar – Biševo Blue Cave – Komiža

In the morning, we set sail again, this time towards the island of Biševo and its famous Blue Cave.

This mesmerizing natural attraction is breath-taking with its game of sunlight which creates a wonderful reflection from its white floor and bathes the cave in aquamarine light. Blue Cave can only be approached by boat and sometimes it can happen that due to winds, waves, and currents, the access to the cave is not possible. We can only know about the sea conditions and the possibility of entrance on the same morning of the visit.

Lunch will be served onboard and we’ll make some swim stops along the sail.

We will arrive in the small, picturesque town of Komiža in the afternoon. You will have free time to explore Komiža at your own pace. Being closed during the time of ex-Yugoslavia, this wonderful island is still like an unspoiled and preserved oasis.

A small town you pass quickly through, but with every passage you find something new. A small town that radiates by its authenticity, fully built out of stone houses, with an additional touch of magic from its inhabitants. Komiža will remain in your memory as an old love you would gladly return to.

We highly recommend dining in Jastožera, a restaurant with a primarily lobster forward menu, built atop of an old lobster farm/enclosure, where generations of Komiža’s fishermen have kept their catch until they were able to sell them.

Overnight in Komiža.

Itinerary Changes

You can count on the value of IWOT’s experience and regional knowledge to make sure you enjoy your cruise even when conditions beyond our control occur. The very nature of sea voyages means that there will be times when weather or other conditions in a region will require IWOT to adjust or modify an itinerary. Although every effort will be made to keep itineraries, vessels, and hotels as they are shown in the itinerary, IWOT reserves the right to substitute itineraries, hotels, or vessels. In such cases, we will do everything we can to make sure the locations visited, the excursions, hotels or vessels offered are like our initial itinerary inclusions. Any changes to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund. Itineraries are subject to change without notice and may need to be altered specifically because of weather, wind factors, or other conditions.

Advanced, Cancelled, or Delayed Sailing

IWOT reserves the right to cancel, advance, postpone or modify scheduled departure, return or itinerary dates, as well as locations, events, and schedules, and may, but is not obligated to, substitute, vary, alter, reschedule, cancel and/or relocate any accommodations, vessels, modes of transportation and other aspects of the vacation. IWOT is authorized to take these actions due to causes or circumstances of any kind or nature beyond IWOT’s control or causes or circumstances within IWOT’s control that IWOT deems to make such actions appropriate. IWOT will not be liable for cancellation, delay, rescheduling or other adjustment or impact to a departure or itinerary, or other aspects of the vacation brought about due to force majeure or other circumstances beyond its control that prevent or interfere with any aspect of the cruise/tour, also including governmental and administrative actions.

Extensions/Land Tours

IWOT reserves the right to reschedule and/or cancel land extensions or land tours if the minimum number of participants (10 people) is not met or for safety reasons.

Security

Security and safety are major concerns to all of us and the global situation is constantly changing. Events around the world, coupled with the “Travel Advisories” put out by various governments, may at times necessitate changes to the accommodations and itinerary or even trip cancellation. Risks are involved in travel to any country that may experience security difficulties. You must accept these risks and assume responsibility for your own travel decisions.

Ship Rules

Passengers on board are obliged to abide by the ship rules, as the captain is responsible for the safety of all passengers and the crew. Jumping and diving from the boat during navigation, as well as climbing on the masts, is forbidden. Swimming far from the boat or the coast should be avoided. It is forbidden to throw rubbish into the sea. It is not allowed to bring drinks and food on the boat, except personal care products, liquid medicine, food products for infants and special diets. The ship’s captain has the right to remove any guests who become unruly, threatening, or behave in an unsafe manner. In such cases, these passengers will not be entitled to any refund.

Health and Mobility

We strive to provide a safe, enjoyable, and memorable travel experience for all passengers. To this end, all passengers must ensure they are medically and physically fit for travel and accept responsibility for being in good health; able to walk, climb steps, enjoy full sightseeing days, and easily transfer to airplane or car/van as needed. In addition, please note the following:

  • We welcome passengers with special needs or disabilities, however, as many sites are not accessible to the physically challenged, those needing wheelchairs, oxygen, or other ambulatory assistance will find the tour extremely limiting in their experiences. Guests with medical needs of a physical nature should bring a personal attendant to assist them. Passengers are required to advise IWOT at time of booking of any physical, medical, or other special needs that require accommodation. Please request the Special Needs form so we can help assess and assist you with passenger needs. After the time of booking, should a Passenger develop a physical or medical condition that requires accommodation the Passenger is required to advise IWOT immediately.
  • IWOT may impose safety requirements necessary for the safe operation of the tour, cruise, and land tours from the cruise. IWOT may also exclude an individual from participating in a tour or an activity if that individual’s participation poses a direct threat to health or safety.
  • IWOT does not provide personal devices (such as wheelchairs, hearing aids or prescription eyeglasses) or services of a personal nature (such as pushing a wheelchair or assistance in eating, toilet, or dressing). A companion capable of providing such assistance must accompany any passenger who requires services of a personal nature.
  • IWOT does not employ medical personnel. Any necessary medical attention will be provided by a local facility at the passenger’s expense. IWOT is not responsible or liable for any losses or costs incurred because of medical services obtained while on the cruise or on land, or for the quality of the care or services received.
  • Passengers should be aware some land tours include rough terrain, extensive walking over cobblestone streets, uneven pavement, stairs, and locations which may not be easily accessible or accessible by wheelchair. During the tour, IWOT may decide with independent suppliers to provide travel services. These parties are independent entities over which IWOT has no control. Accommodations on international tours or cruises may differ from those in the United States. IWOT cannot guarantee disability access or accommodations for passengers traveling on international tours. IWOT may, in its sole discretion, decline the booking of any passenger or remove any passenger who cannot comply or refuses to comply with the IWOT terms and conditions. IWOT is not responsible for any costs incurred in the event a passenger is removed from a tour. Passengers agree not to hold IWOT or any of its related entities liable for any actions taken under these Terms and Conditions.
