Today we explored the seaside city of Valparaiso. We were really able to soak up the essence of local life as we walked along the harbor and hillside neighborhoods. I loved the bohemian culture, mosaics, murals, and colorful houses. We took a boat tour around the bay where we were greeted by the Chilean Navy tall ship, Esmeralda. We listened to traditional Chilean music, ate empanadas, and had a pisco sour tasting. After an awesome lunch with a killer view, we had the opportunity to tour La Sebastiana, the former house and now a museum of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. I only wish I’d had more time to get lost in the streets of Valparaiso. I love this city! #expeditionchile2018 #iworldoftravel #memoriesbeyond

I grew up in this town, my poetry was born between the hill and the river, it took its voice from the rain, and like the timber, it steeped itself in the forests. – Pablo Neruda
