Join me for an unforgettable journey through Greece, beginning with a night in Athens before we set sail aboard the Elysium, an intimate 25-cabin boutique discovery ship. Together, we’ll experience a side of Greece best discovered at a slower pace—where legendary sites, welcoming harbors, crystalline waters, and beautiful moments at sea become part of the journey.
Our voyage begins in Lavrion and carries us through the remarkable Corinth Canal before continuing west toward Itea, gateway to legendary Delphi. From there, we’ll sail into the Ionian, with time to enjoy Lefkada and the waterfront town of Nidri, followed by an overnight in picturesque Fiskardo. We’ll continue to Zakynthos before sailing onward to Kyllini, the gateway to Ancient Olympia, and the historic Venetian harbor town of Nafpaktos.
As our journey comes full circle, we’ll cross the Corinth Canal once more and continue toward East Aegina or Epidaurus before arriving at Cape Sounion. Our final evening is especially memorable: we’ll gather aboard the Elysium for a farewell cocktail and dinner, with the Temple of Poseidon rising above the coast as the sun sets.
On board, there is time to truly settle into the rhythm of Greece. Journey Through Myth & Beauty Itinerary
Your Greek Journey Begins June 1–June 9, 2028
I’m delighted to invite you on a journey through Greece that brings together ancient history, island beauty, intimate cruising, and time to simply enjoy being at sea. We’ll begin with a night in Athens before boarding the Elysium for a voyage through the Gulf of Corinth and the Ionian Sea.
Our adventure begins in Athens, where we’ll settle in at the Divani Palace Acropolis before traveling to Lavrion the following day to embark aboard the 25-cabin Elysium. After a welcome aboard, we’ll set sail toward Cape Sounion before continuing through one of Greece’s great engineering landmarks—the Corinth Canal—as our journey toward western Greece begins.
Our first full day brings us to Itea, gateway to Delphi, one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Here, we’ll discover the legendary Sanctuary of Apollo and the remarkable history that has made Delphi a place of pilgrimage for centuries. After returning to the ship, we’ll pause for a refreshing swim before continuing toward Lefkada.
We’ll arrive in Nidri on Lefkada, surrounded by the lush landscapes and brilliant waters of the Ionian, before continuing to Fiskardo. With its colorful waterfront and relaxed island atmosphere, Fiskardo offers an inviting place to slow down and enjoy the quieter rhythm of Greece.
From Fiskardo, we’ll continue to Zakynthos for an overnight stay, giving us time to experience another distinctive corner of the Ionian. The following day, we’ll sail to Kyllini, gateway to Ancient Olympia, before continuing on to Nafpaktos, a picturesque harbor town shaped by centuries of Venetian history. Its castle, cobblestone streets, and waterfront offer a beautiful glimpse of Greece beyond the better-known island ports.
As our voyage turns back toward the Aegean, we’ll pass through the Corinth Canal once again before continuing to East Aegina or Epidaurus. Depending on the final sailing program, the day may offer opportunities to explore Aegina or discover historic sites and landscapes on the Peloponnese before we make our way toward Cape Sounion.
Our last evening together will be one to remember. With the Temple of Poseidon rising above Cape Sounion, we’ll gather aboard the Elysium for a farewell cocktail and dinner as the journey draws to a close. Later that evening, we’ll sail back toward Lavrion for disembarkation the following morning and our transfer to Athens Airport.
Throughout the voyage, there is a natural balance between time ashore and time aboard: ancient sites and harbor towns, refreshing moments in the water and leisurely meals, moments of discovery and moments to simply take in the view. It is a journey designed to unfold at an unhurried pace, with each destination revealing another side of Greece.

Day 1 | Thursday · June 1, 2028 | Athens – Transfer from Airport to Hotel
Upon arrival in Athens airport, after you make your way through customs and luggage claim, look for your driver in the international arrivals area, this person will be holding the IWorld of Travel sign with our logo and your name on it.
Then, you will depart in your private transportation to your hotel.

Meet your driver at the designated time, and embark on your private transfer to Lavrion, where you will embark the Elysium, your home for the week.

We set sail for the nearby Cape Sounion, home to the “Temple of Poseidon,” for your first dip in the Aegean waters. Perched at the edge of the cliff, the ancient sanctuary is one of the most important monuments of the golden age of Athens.

As the evening winds down, the welcome dinner will be served, the first of of many opportunities for your chef to showcase his talents.
Corinth Canal Navigation
Late this evening, we transit the remarkable Corinth Canal, an extraordinary feat of engineering that dramatically connects the Ionian and Aegean Seas.

Day 3 | Saturday · June 3, 2028 | Itea – Delphi
This morning, we arrive in Itea, gateway to the legendary archaeological site of Delphi. After exploring this UNESCO World Heritage treasure, we return to the ship and continue cruising.
Shore Excursion – Delphi: The navel of the earth and a gift to humanity
Discover two UNESCO World Heritage sites of Delphi.
The Delphi Archaeological site (easily amongst the most important archaeological sites in Greece and a UNESCO World Heritage Monument since 1972) is a gift to humanity. In Delphi, you will bow to what men and nature made together, a creation beyond place and time. And you’ll discover your deeper self as the power of human potential and divine energy resonate within you. Like a worshipper in ancient times, you’ll walk up the Sacred Way to the majestic Temple of Apollo, which was decorated by Athenian sculptors. Pythia issued her prophecies from its inner sanctum. The temple is surrounded by monuments dedicated to the ancient Greek city-states, leaders and ordinary people and the whole place still exudes a unique energy.
Stand before it and look carefully at the ruins. They date from a temple built in 330 BC on the foundations of an earlier Doric temple erected in 505 BC. North of the sanctuary, you’ll find the theatre, where music and drama contests were held. Walk even higher and you’ll come to the Stadium, where the Pythian Games took place.
Ancient Delphi’s Museum is one of the most important museums in Greece. It was built in 1903 to house findings from the first great excavations that began in 1892. In 2004, the space was renovated and expanded, and the exhibits enlarged and rearranged according to modern standards.
The result is fascinating. Don’t miss the marvellous Charioteer, the focal point for many of the thousands of visitors who yearly pass through its 14 rooms.
Afterwards, return to the ship.

In the afternoon, we pause for a refreshing swim stop in crystal-clear waters before continuing our journey.
As evening falls, enjoy dinner onboard under the stars.

This morning, we arrive in Lefkada’s charming harbor of Nydri, surrounded by lush green hills and small islets.
Spend the day exploring at your leisure — stroll along the waterfront promenade, relax at a seaside café, or take in the natural beauty of the island.

Nidri is a lively seaside town on the eastern coast of Lefkada, known for its beautiful waterfront, vibrant atmosphere, and stunning views of the surrounding islands. Once a quiet fishing village, Nidri has become one of the island’s most popular destinations, offering charming cafés, traditional tavernas, and a picturesque marina filled with boats. Visitors can enjoy relaxing by the sea, exploring nearby beaches, and taking in the natural beauty of the Ionian landscape.
Surrounded by lush green hills, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking coastal scenery, Nidri is the perfect base for discovering the hidden gems of Lefkada. Early this morning, we depart Lefkada and cruise toward the private island of Skorpios for a beautiful swim stop.
Relax in turquoise waters and soak in the scenery before continuing onward.

Later this afternoon, we arrive in the postcard-perfect village of Fiskardo, known for its colorful Venetian architecture and lively harbor atmosphere.
Enjoy the evening at leisure and remain overnight in port.

Day 6 | Tuesday · June 6, 2028 | Fiskardo – Zakynthos
This morning, we sail toward the spectacular Blue Caves, where sunlight creates brilliant reflections in the sapphire waters.
After time to swim and explore, we continue cruising and arrive in Zakynthos later this afternoon.

Upon arrival at Zakynthos Port, you will discover an island of extraordinary natural beauty, where dramatic limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and secluded sandy coves create a breathtaking landscape.
Enjoy the unique charm of Zakynthos, surrounded by stunning coastal scenery and the authentic atmosphere of this enchanting Ionian island.
Zakynthos
Located in the Ionian Sea off the coast of the Greek Peloponesse, Zakynthos doesn’t get the amount of attention as its island neighbor to the north, Corfu, but that might be a good thing. Sure, there are tourists here and there are even some resorts and villages packed with non-locals. After all, it has an international airport and even Homer mentioned the island a few millennia ago. But if you know where to wander, Zakynthos can be a lovely, tranquil place to spend some time in.
The tragic yet romantically named Shipwreck Beach is named for a cargo ship that ran aground here in the 1960s. That boat is still there on the shore near the gently lapping turquoise waves. The beach is only accessible from the water, so most visitors view it from the cliff above the shore. The island is also home to numerous blue grottos, not unlike the more well-known caves in Capri and up the coast in Croatia.
Lovers of history will dig exploring the ruined Venetian fortress, Kastro, that looms over Zakynthos’ main town (also of the same name) as well as the fantastic Byzantine Museum which houses entire centuries-old church interiors (that were razed by a mid-20th-century earthquake).

Early this morning, we depart Zakynthos and enjoy a relaxing cruise across the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
As the island slowly fades into the distance, take in the stunning coastal scenery, gentle sea breeze, and peaceful atmosphere onboard. This scenic sailing offers the perfect opportunity to unwind and appreciate the beauty of the Greek islands.

Here, you may explore one of Greece’s most iconic archaeological sites and walk in the footsteps of the first Olympic athletes.
In the afternoon, we sail onward to Nafpaktos, a picturesque Venetian harbor town.

Arrive into Nafpaktos, offers a breathtaking first impression of this historic Greek gem, nestled picturesquely on the slopes of a pine-clad hill.
Have some time at leisure to explore the beautifully preserved Venetian castle, whose ancient walls cascade down to embrace a charming horseshoe-shaped harbor.
Nafpaktos
Nafpaktos is a charming coastal town in western Greece, located on the northern shore of the Gulf of Corinth. Known for its Venetian harbor, colorful waterfront, and beautifully preserved old town, Nafpaktos offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and seaside charm. Visitors can explore its medieval castle, stroll through narrow cobblestone streets, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of local cafés and tavernas overlooking the sea.

Early this morning, we once again transit the dramatic Corinth Canal, re-entering the Aegean Sea.
Admire the stunning cliffs and dramatic landscapes as you transit through this impressive canal.
Arrival to East Aegina or Epidaurus
Later in the morning, we arrive in Aegina, a charming island located just outside Athens.
Optional Tours: Epidaurus/Mycenae, or day trip to Nafplion (including Semeli Winery). Nafplion has amazing shopping and restaurants.
Aegina is famous for its massive fields of pistachios, and their reliance and love for these tasty nuts are visible in their local sweets and souvenirs.
Arrival to Cape Sounion
This ancient Greek temple, dedicated to the god of the sea, offers a powerful glimpse into the region’s rich history and mythology. This evening, we’ll gather aboard the Elysium for a special farewell dinner beneath the Temple of Poseidon as the sun sets over Cape Sounion—a memorable finale to our journey through Greece.

In the evening, it’s time for our farewell cocktail and dinner onboard the Elysium.
Later, we set sail towards Lavrion port.
