Korčula - Wine Tasting

Duration of service: 1–1.5 hours

Korčula island is famous for its millennia-old tradition of winemaking. Unlike the rest of Dalmatia, which is known mostly for its red wine varieties, the Island of Korčula is renowned above all for the quality of its white wine made from its native grapevine varieties.

In the central region of the Island, Pošip and Rukatac varieties are cultivated, while in Lumbarda, on the eastern side of the island, Grk vineyards are located. Among the red wine varieties, the most popular one is Plavac Mali.

The wine of Korčula is celebrated for its excellent properties, complexity, accentuated varietal aroma, and high alcohol content, which reflects the Mediterranean sunshine, scents, and tastes. It is distinguished for its exceptionally low acidity—unusual among southern wine varieties—and this is why it is such a pleasure to taste it.

We offer a tasting in 1 of the 2 different wineries in this famous winemaking region:

Price per person:

Korčula - Buggy Tour

Maximum group size: 24 pax
Durations: 2.5 hours or 4 hours
Price per person: $151 (2.5h)

Along the way, enjoy cold refreshments and homemade herbal juice.

There’s time to relax with about an hour of swimming and sunbathing at the beach, with an optional stop at Restaurant Amore for coffee or a meal at your own expense.

The tour concludes at our family home, where you’ll be welcomed with a generous tasting of homemade products — wine, liqueurs, fresh bread, cakes, pancakes with house-made marmalades, and our signature dried tomato sauce made from traditional recipes. You’ll also have the option to visit the largest hunting room in Dalmatia and explore our underground cellar, where we produce our wines and other specialties.

The tour covers 37–42 km with three scenic stops for stories and photos. It is a relaxed sightseeing experience; unsafe or adrenaline-style driving is strictly prohibited.

Please request the Special Needs form so we can help assess and assist you with passenger needs. After the time of booking, should a Passenger develop a physical or medical condition that requires accommodation the Passenger is required to advise IWOT immediately.
  •  IWOT may impose safety requirements necessary for the safe operation of the tour, cruise, and land tours from the cruise. IWOT may also exclude an individual from participating in a tour or an activity if that individual’s participation poses a direct threat to health or safety.
  • IWOT does not provide personal devices (such as wheelchairs, hearing aids or prescription eyeglasses) or services of a personal nature (such as pushing a wheelchair or assistance in eating, toileting or dressing). A companion capable of providing such assistance must accompany any passenger who requires services of a personal nature.
  • IWOT does not employ medical personnel. Any necessary medical attention will be provided by a local facility at the passenger’s expense. IWOT is not responsible or liable for any losses or costs incurred as a result of medical services obtained while on the cruise or on land, or for the quality of the care or services received.
  • Passengers should be aware some land tours include rough terrain, extensive walking over cobblestone streets, uneven pavement, stairs and locations which may not be easily accessible or accessible by wheelchair. During the tour, IWOT may decide with independent suppliers to provide travel services. These parties are independent entities over which IWOT has no control. Accommodations on international tours or cruises may differ from those in the United States. IWOT cannot guarantee disability access or accommodations for passengers traveling on international tours. IWOT may, in its sole discretion, decline the booking of any passenger or remove any passenger who cannot comply or refuses to comply with the IWOT terms and conditions. IWOT is not responsible for any costs incurred in the event a passenger is removed from a tour. Passengers agree not to hold IWOT or any of its related entities liable for any actions taken under these Terms and Conditions.
